My story

portrait of cassandra postema

“Two roads in a woods diverged and I, I chose the one less traveled by. And that has made all the difference.”

I am a fashion, textile and jewellery designer and artist. I was born in the Netherlands, and raised in Singapore, Austria and Japan via the expat international school system. From our home in Singapore, my family visited Bali regularly as well as many of the Indonesian islands. It was Bali especially that resonated with me ever since those family holidays.

After graduating from Central St Martin’s School of Art in London with a fashion and printed textiles degree, I spent 20 years as a fashion and print designer both at the design and production side in London and Hong Kong. However, my main passion has always been creating social impact with my work in some way.

Most recently I work with Balinese and Cambodian artisans to make jewellery using recycled bullets.  You can find this line at Emi & Eve.

From my home in Bali, I have a plethora of artisans right on the doorstep of my house in Ubud, global centre of all things hand crafted.
